I've been on my own personal journey of healing and recovery for 20+ years. It hasn't been an easy road, and even when you unpack one thing it seems that something else is just waiting there to slap you in the face. With that being said I've developed skills over the years that's allowed me to arm myself with the greatest spiritual toolbox a girl could ask for. That's the love & support I'm here to pour into you. LFG!
I spent 10 yrs in the hospitality industry when I was younger. Then I moved to VA, got married-then divorced and began a 15 yr corporate career in sales and marketing that I LOVED. Yearning for more I went back to my yoga practice after a long hiatus-and remembered why I fell in love with the practice in the first place. It's like a 60 minute class of breathing, being mindful in movement and being present made me feel like I just pulled my whole life together.
From there my journey into teacher trainings, self-study, workshops and my own practice became my full passion and I've been at it the past 15 years. I knew bringing movement, mindfulness, and wellness to the masses was what I was meant to do. But, do it in a Sheri kind of fashion.
I take teaching very serious. Watching people move, breathe, sweat, get stronger and find a new confidence on and off the mat is beautiful. Helping them cope with past trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression is beyond rewarding.
This path has led me down an incredible road, but also prepared me even more for my personal life changes. I got cancer in 2016 and I've been on a constant journey ever since. I've had so many surgeries I've lost count. A staph infection that hospitalized me for two months and nearly killed me. I got sober after a decade long struggle with addiction. I've had to heal my body over and over again. Regain my strength over and over. It's been a wild ride I can tell you that.
I've been asked hundreds of times...How do I stay so positive given everything I've been through. My answer is always the same...You mind is a powerful tool. You get to choose how you feel and react to every single thing you face in life. Good or bad! "Why Me?" isn't going to get you the answers.
The question I always ask is What's Next? and LFG!
I'm in control and will make decisions based on what's best for me.
This is what my journey, experience, wisdom, and my integrity has taught me.
